PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:Architectural reprographic prints.
ORIGINATION: Wright, Frank Lloyd, 1867-1959
Penfield, Louis
ACQUISITION INFORMATION:These materials were donated to the Ryerson and Burnham Archives by Louis A. Penfield in December, 1982.

HISTORICAL NOTE:
Among architect Frank Lloyd Wright's last known residential projects was a second house for artist and teacher Louis Penfield and his wife, Pauline, for whom Wright had designed a first house in Willoughby, Ohio, in 1952 (construction was completed in 1955). Wright finished preliminary designs for this second Penfield residence before his death in April, 1959. The drawings were completed by Wright's successor firm, Taliesin Associated Architects, under the direction of William Wesley Peters, in 1960. However, the second house was unbuilt.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE:
The Penfield Residence Collection consists of five drawings for the second house in Willoughby, Ohio. These reproductions of original drawings were provided to Louis Penfield by the Taliesin Associated Architects and Penfield later colored and annotated several of the sheets.

ORGANIZATION AND ARRANGEMENT:
The drawings are arranged in chronological order of last revision date.
