ABSTRACT:Architectural working drawings and a landmarks report for architect Emory Stanford Hall's YMCA College building (1915) in Chicago, Illinois.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:Aperture cards and photocopies.
ORIGINATION: Commission on Chicago Landmarks
ACQUISITION INFORMATION:The source of acquisition is unknown at this time.

HISTORICAL NOTE:
The YMCA College Building, at the intersection of Drexel Avenue and 53rd Street in Chicago, Illinois, was designed by Emery Stanford Hall and completed in 1915 (Job #670). From 1966 to 1973 the building was owned by the University of Chicago, and subsequently owned by the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, which renamed it Chauncey S. Boucher Hall. Although the Commission on Chicago Landmarks staff prepared a "Summary of Information" in December, 1988, as a preliminary to landmark consideration, the building was demolished in 1989.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE:
The collection includes six microfilm aperture cards, with paper prints, of architectural working drawings by Emory Stanford Hall, as well as a copy of the December 1988 report, "Preliminary Staff Summary of Information Submitted to the Commission on Chicago Landmarks." The architectural working drawings are listed in order of sheet number, as assigned by the architect, and were created from the aperture cards.
