 Image: Title: Abstract:

1. Percier and Fontaine collection, c.1790-c.1875 Percier and Fontaine collection, c.1790-c.1875 Charles Percier and Pierre François Léonard Fontaine were appointed architectes du gouvernement by Napoleon in 1801, and their architecture and interior design work can be found in many of the monuments of Napoleonic Paris. The collection contains almost 130 original drawings--primarily by Fontaine's nephew Pierre François Louis Fontaine--and roughly eighty-five prints, some with manuscript annotations, of projects or monuments primarily in France and Italy. There are also two bound manuscripts documenting the architectural activity in Paris at the time of Napoleon I, with detailed inventories, journal entries, and illustrations of the buildings and monuments.
